A great venue is an important aspect of ensuring a successful working session. Our facilitators and graphic facilitators have become quite skilled at working with hotels all around Boston (and beyond!) to make sure that we can create meeting and conference spaces that enable creativity and collaboration, allowing our participants to realize what’s next together.

We’re always on the lookout for exceptional locations to hold our sessions, and we were excited to discover Convene at One Boston Place. Convene provides an on-demand meeting, event, and conference space in Boston’s Financial District, a short walk from our office.

With capacity for up to 175 guests, Convene is perfect for hosting sessions like ours, ranging from multi-day Design Sessions to Client Advisory Boards. They cover the essentials like technology and flexible meeting spaces, and they provide nice extras like an on-site chef and unlimited drinks and snacks. The event planning team makes it easy, and they are easy to partner with– a big plus for us!

Convene recently threw a party to celebrate their first year in Boston. This event gave existing clients and interested members of the community a chance to check out their awesome space, mingle over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and to check out Convene’s “Experience Partners”. Collective Next is thrilled to be named an Experience Partner, and we are looking forward to more opportunities to bring our skills to the Convene space in the future.

On the evening of the Showcase event, we were on hand to provide a unique experience for everyone walking in: we asked, “What was your most memorable meeting experience?” and one by one, we scribed up the various responses on a large board for all to see. Attendees were excited to see their responses come to life, many of them stopping back later in the evening to check on the progress. This is the sort of thing we LOVE to do, and it was a great opportunity for us to bring some additional excitement to the event and to create an artifact that Convene will share with the attendees later.

Since we were there anyway, and we love to draw, we also agreed to scribe all over the black board surface cocktail bars they had set up…which was pretty fun and people seemed to love them!

Finally, we went into one of the 6 meeting rooms they use for events, and since there are whiteboards in most of them, it would have been a shame to NOT do some sample scribing to give folks an idea of what that could look like during their own session at Convene.

All in all, it was a fantastic night. We look forward to seeing the impact we can create together through this awesome partnership.
