Matt Saiia

Co-Founder/CEO

How do organizations change? Where might they venture beyond today’s limitations? How can they create What’s Next for themselves and the greater purpose they serve? Matt has spent over 25 years working with businesses to answer those questions, to support their transformation from 20th century models to become the organizations that the next century—and beyond—will demand. Through his work with countless companies, nonprofits, and teams of all sizes, Matt has developed various approaches to collaborative work aimed at creating real, impactful change. Whether that change involves looking at the ways technology and diverse human beings converge, the evolution of business systems, or thinking about the broader impact of our professional efforts on the world around us, Matt always begins from a simple premise: how can we move forward, together?

Matt majored in Studio Art at Grinnell College—a college he chose for its open-mindedness and collective student-driven approach to leadership and decision-making. After graduating, he was introduced to the world of facilitation and collaborative work through MG Taylor and Capgemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment. After immersing himself in this emerging field (alongside his colleague, future wife, and co-founder Sarah Shrimplin), Collective Next was formed. Over the past twenty years as CEO, Matt has worked to cultivate the next generation of facilitative leadership by fostering a community of creative, passionate colleagues that see the same potential for catalyzing change as he does.

When Matt steps away from Collective Next, he is likely attending a concert, hanging out with family and friends on a midwestern lake, or being creative in one way or another. Regardless of what he is doing, Matt thrives on the energy generated by sharing unique experiences with others, and is always up for thinking out loud with those around him.
